Charlie Sparrow - Blues Magazine - April 2009
Hailing from Mount Gambier in South Australia, Sandra Humphries has released her third album. It is a very good country release. Preferring the American country sound, Sandra's passion and love for singing country shines here.
Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, and released at the Tamworth Festival this year to a sell-out crowd, Sandra is on a sure-fire winner with I'm Worth It. On listening to the album, I hear shades of Patsy Cline and Martina McBride as Sandra works her vocal versatility through soft heart-wrenching songs like Time to Walk Away, and I Left Him At Home, then changes tempo to a mover and a shaker with the title track I'm Worth It. She shines on the old Hank Williams song You Win Again - a song I have heard sung a hundred different ways. Sandra's version is outstanding!
Twelve tracks fill out this album and it features some good old favourites
like Long Black Train, and Pardon Me (If 1 Don't Understand).
Often people buy an album for one or two songs, but this album is locked and loaded. They're all good country songs.
