Greg Bush - Capital News CD Review - June 2003
South Australian SANDRA HUMPHRIES, who prefers to be known by her Christian name only, first came to prominence as lead vocalist with country band CROSS WIND. For her debut solo album, she enlisted the aid of some notable Australian musicians, including Glen Hannah, Mick Albeck and Michel Rose. With those credentials it's no surprise that the finished product is professional to the max, and country to the core. You Don't Know How Lucky You Are is as good a country waltz as you'll ever hear, while Wait A Minute has an infectious beat with light-hearted lyrics. BILL CHAMBERS, who also produced the album, duets on the slower Love On The Side, which deals with one of country music's occupational hazards - extra-marital affairs. Some songs will sound familiar, such as If Tomorrow Never Comes, but Sandra's vocal interpretation is by no means inferior.
An above-average debut from a future star.
